WALKER DIE
Also called a high die or dinkier die. Any die over 1-1/4" used to diecut high lays of materials or single ply of a material that may be molded and require more height than a clicker or regular steel rule die to make a clean die cut.
WARPAGE
Generally refers to the turning or twisting out of shape.
WATER JET CUTTING
The cutting of any material using a high-pressure stream of matter to accomplish the cutting action.
WATT
The unit of power or radiant flux in a laser system Watt (w)=1 Joule (J)
WAVE
An undulation or vibration, a form of movement by which all radian energy of the electromagnetic spectrum is thought to travel.
WAVE EDGE RULE
A specially type of steel rule blade that has a wave edge built into the cutting edge. This creates special effects in diecut pieces.
WEB
The paper, foil, film or other flexible material, from a roll, that moves through the machine in the process of being formed, converted, printed, etc.
WEB PRESS
A press which prints or diecuts from rolls (or webs) of paper.
